Nationale Politieke Index
What do we measure?
We measure activities that are important to the work that Members of Parliament s do in the House of Representatives, which is often less visible to the outside world but essential to the functioning of a Member of Parliament.
Thus, the Nationale Politieke Index provides insight into which Members of Parliament make a relevant contribution - based on the indicators - to the functioning of parliament. Nothing more and nothing less.

What isn't measured?
We do not measure how 'popular' Members of Parliament are. Nor do we look at how often they appear in the media. While this is relevant, the Nationale Politieke Index purely aims to show how valuable Members of Parliament are in the execution of their 'craft'.
Nor do we make any statement about the substantive 'quality' of the work. There are always 'winners' and 'losers' in an adopted motion. In addition, an adopted motion may be seen as very 'good' by some and 'bad' by others. The Nationale Politieke Index has no opinion on this.
As has been said, the best Member of Parliament is the one you vote for. We show which Members of Parliament deserve an appealing spot in the Nationale Politieke Index rankings based on a host of relevant indicators sourced from the Clerk of the Parliament itself.
